	Kumaon Kumaon is one of the hill regions in the northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Central Himalayas. The placements in Kumaon are with three locally based NGOs, which are very active in a wide range of areas. Travel to these placements will involve an overnight train journey from Delhi, followed by a two to three hour drive in the hills.
