Camvol's
placements cater to students who have a particular interest in
issues relating to environment and development. Each of the
organisations works in specific areas within these broad themes, and
the detailed description of each placement provides details of the
particular skills that will be most useful to the host
organisation.
Application and selection
process
The selection
process takes place between October and March in the year prior to
the summer in which the placement is to be taken up. For placements
in summer 2010, applications
and selection will take place from October 2009 till March 2010.
The second
deadline for submitting applications for placements for summer 2010
is Monday 15 February 2010.
In
order to apply for a Camvol placement, these are the
steps:
1. Select a placement which interests
you. If you are interested in more than one placement, please list
all the placements for which you would like to be considered, in
order of preference.
2. Submit a two-page CV and a 300
word statement of interest by 15 February
2010.
3. Supporting references will be
required by 25 February 2010, usually from your Director of
Studies or Tutor.
4. If you are shortlisted for a
placement, you will be informed by 28 February
2010.
5. Interviews will be held
by 9 March
2010.
6. Once
selected, you will be provided with information and support with
arrangements. Camvol will also organise an orientation day prior
to departure in June 2010.
