Camvol support

Camvol charges a fee from its volunteers, and offers support and guidance through the period leading up to departure, during placement, and after volunteers return to the UK. For placements in 2008, the fee will be £220.

Why is a fee necessary?

·        Identifying appropriate host organisations and liasing with them is time-consuming and requires resources.

·        The costs of recruiting volunteers, producing relevant materials, phone calls, emails, developing a website, and interviewing volunteers are considerable.

·        There are legal obligations and associated costs related to supporting volunteers.

·        Camvol provides personalised volunteer support before, during and after the placements.

·        Camvol provides detailed information to the volunteers, and arranges an orientation prior to departure.
