Kumaon is one of the hill regions in the northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Central Himalayas. The placements in Kumaon are with locally based NGOs, which are very active in a wide range of areas. Travel to these placements will involve a train journey from Delhi, followed by a three hour drive in the hills.
